Survival Analysis of Gastric Cancer Using Personal Computer

Abstract
|
|
|
Survival analysis of gastric cancer is very important and has been studies by many authors.
This retrospective study has been performed on 272 patients with adenocarcinoma which had been resected from January, 1987 to december, 1990 at kwangju Christian Hospital for identification of prognostic factors suing personal computer with BMDP
programs.
5 year cumulative survivals were not obtained because maximal survival time was 43 months after radical gastrectomy.
But there was no problem to identify a feature of survival function and prognostic factors.
The 3 prognostic factors-TNM stage, Node invasion, Depth of tumor invasion were proved as significant prognostic factors by Personal Computer with BMDP survival analysis programs (p<0.05). Other prognostic factors showed no significant statistic
value
on BMDP survival analysis with covariates.
